The Heart of the Matter

This week and next I'm sharing an annual event is near and dear to our hearts at AOO Events. Making this wonderful event extra special for us was that this year our new live production and staging division, AOO Live made its debut as producer. 

The 2012 Heart Foundation Gala was held at The Palladium in Hollywood, California, and honored Dr. P.K. and Kimberly Shah. The evening featured an all-star lineup, with Ryan Seacrest as MC, Dana Carvey, music icon David Foster, a surprise performance with Paul Anka, and a 60-minute finale performance featuring Michael Buble and his 12-piece orchestra. 

The color palette would change during the evening, but fittingly, it began with the warm tones of tangerine and cherry.

To make this large space, usually used for concerts, more intimate we designed floor-to-ceiling panels of bubbled and ice velvet on white burnout sheer fabric. These were framed by11-foot-tall mahogany regency lamps with giant black shades.

Shown here is one of the rich color palettes we used. 

On the stage and down the 8-foot-wide carpet runner that ran to the stage, we used a lighted paisley pattern. 

 

 This same pattern was also used in the cocktail area.

 

The stage backdrop was set in white grass patterned burnout fabric flats backed by floor-to-ceiling crystal and bubble patterned burnout curtains surrounding a 21-by-12-foot screen for multi media presentations and IMAG. A floating logo backed a clear acrylic podium for speakers and the award presentations.

Guest tables on the club floor were either richly appointed rounds or king tables strategically intermixed for sponsor tiered seating. There were five different styles with each table draped in soft shimmer tangerine, raspberry or chocolate floor-length linen.

 

Tables were accented with both high and low ceramic containers filled with orange and fuchsia amaryllis and hydrangea in complementing colors. Frosted square votives and lamour napkins in contrasting colors finished the tables.

This design set the foundation of a night of amazing entertainment and heart warming moments. Come back next week to see who took the stage!
