As the holidays approach, I'm starting to think about how to design my Christmas dinner table. I'll be celebrating with friends who thankfully never ask me to cook; just "do" the table. So, what will I do?
Perhaps something like I did this year at Thanksgiving (shown in these photos). I had fun putting the look together -- using rich fall colors in a high-style way. The table began with the faux antiqued mirror look that we used at the Dream Foundation's Valentino fashion show earlier this year at the Bacara Resort (See my November 19 post for more on this). We started with Plexiglas and did all the antiquing ourselves using a lot of faux painting, acid and elbow grease. They turned out fantastic as you can see!

On this table, I have to admit that I got a lot of help in combining all the elements. It's a combination of Justin’s beautiful flowers (he used only orchids and proteas with chocolate crushed glass in silver containers), our props, linens donated by
Wildflower Linen, chairs donated by
Chameleon Chairs, chargers and other equipment supplied by
Town and Country Rentals, and then some of Doug’s glassware and flatware.
Now ... what to do for Christmas???
